Drug and Alcohol Addiction Services
Intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) can be described as a range of services within the broader scope of alcohol and other drug addiction treatment services. Some of the services provided are withdrawal management, group therapy, relapse prevention training, individual counseling, family counseling, skills workshops, and aftercare planning.
Our IOP clients will attend treatment Monday through Friday and consist of scheduled day or evening sessions within a structured program. Our clients will have a full spectrum of treatment programming while continuing to live at home or in sober living residences.
Intensive outpatient treatment is a proven transitional living option that keeps participants accountable while helping them apply recovery principles to real-life situations.
We will assign you a professional counselor who will supervise your case. At least once a week, you will meet with this person for individual therapy sessions, which will last 45 minutes to an hour.
In your first individual therapy sessions, your therapist will assess your motivations and work with you to set treatment goals, such as learning coping skills, managing emotions without using drugs, and enhancing social supports. You and your therapist will examine your damaging beliefs, self-concepts, and behaviors.
You will have an individual treatment plan which will outline your problem areas you wish to work on, your goals and how you can achieve those goals. This will be revised with you and your therapist every 14-30 days while in treatment.
Your individual therapist will be the closest to your case and will be one of the key people who decides when you are ready to leave your drug addiction program. Once you are home, you will often continue in individual therapy as you transition into your new drug-free lifestyle and your pursuit of long-term sobriety.
Individual and group therapy are an integral component of treatment. These two approaches are not at odds with each other. Instead, the skills and insights gained in individual sessions complement those of group therapy and vice versa.
Our group therapy will give you the opportunity to learn new coping techniques, practice communication skills, and gain hope and strength from your peers.
In group therapy, multiple clients will meet in a session led by one of our licensed substance abuse counselors. Each sessions will last 90 minutes to two hours, depending on program structure.
